Amicable resolution reached by Panicware and ISSS - August 2005 - "POP-UP STOPPER" Trademark
International Software Systems Solutions, Inc., and Panicware, Inc., announce that they have reached an amicable, mutually agreeable resolution to their disputes formerly pending before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board...As part of the settlement, much of which remains confidential, ISSS has agreed not to use the POP-UP STOPPERŪ trademark in ad title or text within listings triggered as a result of keyword bidding.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington held for Panicware in a copyright infringement case against Mobile Software Technologies and Kenny Vadas. The court held that the defendants had willfully infringed Panicware's exclusive rights in its protected software work and that Panicware was entitled to a judgment in the amount of $150,000 for willful infringement of Panicware's copyright.

02/27/07 FTC says law protects children's privacy
A 1998 law passed to shield children's privacy online has been effective in protecting young children without excessively burdening Web site operators, the Federal Trade Commission said in a report to Congress released Tuesday.But "age falsification" by children remains a risk, the commission's report said, as age verification technology is not widely available. The report also cites social networking Web sites and mobile Internet access as "new and emerging issues."
