  Panicware Responds to Consumer Distress Over ClickSpring Ad-
                  serving Software WINSERVS.exe
                                
Panicware has received hundreds of emails asking for help with a
 sudden surge in pop-up windows, caused by the WINSERVS.exe file
 installed by the ClickSpring / PurityScan web site or affiliate
         software programs paid to distribute this file.
                                
SEATTLE, WA (November 19, 2002) - Panicware Inc., a developer  of
PC  software  solutions, has discovered  a  new  ad-serving  file
installed by the PurityScan / ClickSpring web site. This file  is
called Winservs.exe and it installs itself when users scan  their
computers   for   inappropriate  material  with  the   PurityScan
software. The program then displays intrusive pop-up ads when the
user is surfing.

"The  product  simply  places itself  directly  into  the  user's
startup  menu  without  their  knowledge"  said  Nick  Skrepetos,
President   of   Panicware.  "Upon  closer  inspection   by   our
development team, we determined that the product does not allow a
standard  uninstall via the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs  as
most users would expect. We assume that this is an effort to make
sure the product stays on the user's system.

To  detect and remove this product, Panicware has created a  FREE
product  entitled Pop-Up Scanner which will shut down the product
and remove it from your system. Panicware suggests that users  do
not  re-run  the PurityScan product or it will re-install  itself
each time it is run.

Also  included in this free product is a Personal Privacy  Report
which  will  show  users exactly what types of  URL  and  Browser
history items are actually on their computers.
