Pop-Up Stopper Companion Tutorial


The following is a short description of the various features that are available to enhance your surfing experience and some common questions and answers.

Pop-Up Stopper Companion Toolbar
Pop-Up Stopper Companion provides many features to cleaning your system, managing links to your favorite sites, and controlling pop-up windows.

Downloading

To download Pop-Up Stopper Companion, you will need to visit our downloads page and click the download link to begin the small download of Pop-Up Stopper Companion. When the download begins, you will be asked to save the file to a common download folder, or your desktop. Be sure to note where you are downloading the file. The file is very small and should download in less than one minute on a 28.8 speed connection.

Installation

Please open the folder or location into which you downloaded the Pop-Up Stopper Companion file on your computer. You are now ready to install Pop-Up Stopper Companion! Please make sure you have closed all other programs including browsers and email programs. Double-click this file and the Install Wizard will begin to install Pop-Up Stopper Companion. You will need to click the Next button to continue installation. After you click the Finish button, open your Internet Explorer browser and you will find Pop-Up Stopper Companion located below address in your toolbar.
 

Internet Explorer Cleaning
You may clear the drop-down URL history (address bar), browser history, cookies, cache, AutoComplete Forms and AutoComplete Passwords.  AutoComplete Forms data typically includes places such as search engines and online purchase forms.   Internet Explorer saves a list of your entries to speed up data entry.    AutoComplete Passwords are used when you login to a web site that requires both a username and password.


Windows History Cleaning
The Run history and history lists typically require you to reboot your computer before they will be cleared.   Both the Recently viewed documents lists and Recycle Bin may be cleared without rebooting.


Cleaning All or Selected History Lists
The clear all option clears all of your Internet Explorer and Windows personal history lists.   Use this option with care, as you cannot undo its action.   The clear selected personal history lists only clears those options which you have selected in the Preferences section of Pop-Up Stopper Companion.


Temporary Bookmarks
When surfing the web, you often times search for information, then follow links from the returned search, only to find yourself trying to quickly return to the search results.  Pop-Up Stopper Companion provides  a temporary bookmark so you may do just that.  Simply click the set bookmark button when you are at a web page you wish to return to at a later time.  When you wish to return to the page, simply click the go to book mark button and you will be returned.   The bookmarks are NOT saved after you close your browser.

Hot Links
Hot Links provide a way to keep track of your favorite sites and make them available right from your browser without having to search through favorites or browser history.   To add a site to the Hot Link list, click the add hot link button.   To access your Hot Links, click the Hot Links button and you will be presented with a list of your favorite sites.


Finding your last downloaded file
When you download a file in Internet Explorer, you are prompted where you would like the file to be saved, and the file will be stored in that location when the download is complete.   Many times, users will click the Save button, and then later realize there they have lost track of the downloaded file.   With Pop-Up Stopper Companion, you simply click the folder icon on the toolbar, and the location the last downloaded file was stored will be opened as a folder for easy retrieval and access!


Pop-Up window control
Pop-Up Stopper Companion provides a highly effective method for controlling pop-up windows that often intrude on your surfing experience.   The pop-up control allows you to surf normally, clicking on links, opening new windows, but simply blocks the windows launched by web pages you visit.   If pop-up windows still sneak through in our "Standard" mode of operation, you may elect to use "Aggressive Mode" which uses an even more strict method of controlling the pop-up windows.   This mode may be activated or deactivated at anytime from the Preferences.   You may hold down the CTRL (Control) key when clicking on a link to allow a new window if desired.    You may also elect to play a sound when a windows is prevented as notification that a window was blocked.   You may select one of several default sounds, or select your own sound in the Preferences menu.

The Pop-Up Stopper Companion options and configuration menu allows you to enter you registration code to register your product, obtain online help, and control the way Pop-Up Stopper Companion operates.

I have tried the 30-day free trial, and now I want to register, how do I do this?
Simply purchase a Registration code and enter it into your product. Please visit our Purchase page for purchase details. Then, please simply enter the Registration code in the Registration prompt window found when you exit and reopen the product. Or, you may access the Registration prompt window by selecting Registration from the Pop-Up Stopper Companion Options menu.


I just bought Pop-Up Stopper Companion, but I don't know what to do with the Registration Code I received.
Please simply enter the Registration code in the Registration prompt window found when you exit and reopen Internet Explorer. Or, you may access the Registration prompt window by selecting Registration from Pop-Up Stopper Companion Options menu. If you have lost your Registration Code, or need to change your email address, please use our automated form to process your request.


I installed Pop-Up Stopper Companion and opened Internet Explorer, however I cannot find Pop-Up Stopper Companion!
If the Pop-Up Stopper Companion toolbar does not appear when you open Internet Explorer, simply choose Toolbars from the View menu, and select the Pop-Up Stopper Companion Toolbar.


I hate annoying pop-up windows! Can Pop-Up Stopper Companion really prevent those? 
Yes! Pop-Up Stopper Companion can optionally disable or control pop-up and pop-under windows in Internet Explorer, allowing a smooth browsing experience. You may choose from two pop-up control modes. When pop-up control is selected, you may allow pop-up windows by holding down the CTRL (Control) key when clicking a link that activates a pop-up window. You may allow pop-up windows from sites by using our Allow button!


How do I uninstall Pop-Up Stopper Companion?
Exit Internet Explorer. Go to your Control Panel and select Add/Remove programs. Select the program you wish to remove, and click Remove.
